    ASPEN, CO – JUNE 9, 2025 – This summer, the Wheeler Opera House invites audiences to experience Aspen’s unique cultural vibrancy through a genre-spanning lineup that blends immersive theater, live music, documentary storytelling, and award-winning performance. The month’s programming includes the Colorado premiere of a live-action mystery adventure through downtown Aspen, a thought-provoking evening with a National Geographic photojournalist, a one-night-only concert by two of Americana’s most celebrated voices, and an electrifying reimagining of Tennessee Williams’ most iconic play.


    Clue: A Walking Mystery – Aspen Edition | Tuesdays – Saturdays, June 19 through July 12 at multiple times (No time slots on July 4)
    Turn the streets of downtown Aspen into your personal game board in this award-winning immersive experience, making its Colorado debut. Based on the classic board game, CLUE: A Walking Mystery invites teams to step into a live-action “whodunit,” solving puzzles and collecting clues hidden inside local businesses. Named Best Immersive Experience in Chicago by No Proscenium, the production blends community storytelling with hands-on adventure—perfect for families, friends, or team outings.


    Changemaker Speaker Series | David McLain: The Blue Zones – Unlocking the Secrets of Longevity | Tuesday, June 17 at 7 PM
    National Geographic photojournalist and founding Sony Artisan David McLain explores the secrets to long life in an inspiring multimedia talk that spans more than 50 countries and decades of documentation. Known for his work in TIME, The New York Times, and National Geographic, McLain’s striking images and stories from the world’s Blue Zones will give audiences insight into how culture, diet, and environment shape well-being—and what we can learn from the planet’s healthiest people.


    Mary Chapin Carpenter / Brandy Clark | Tuesday, June 24 at 7 PM
    An unforgettable evening of storytelling and song. Five-time Grammy winner Mary Chapin Carpenter returns to the stage performing selections from her deep catalog along with music from her forthcoming album Personal History (out June 6). Brandy Clark, opening the evening, arrives fresh from her 2025 Grammy win for Best Americana Performance and a Tony nomination for Shucked. This double bill brings two powerhouse voices of modern Americana together for one night only.


    Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire | Sunday – Wednesday, July 27–30 at 7:30 PM
    For the first time in Colorado, The Streetcar Project brings its raw, unfiltered take on Tennessee Williams’ masterpiece to Aspen in The Vault at the Wheeler. Directed by Nick Westrate and Lucy Owen, this version of A Streetcar Named Desire has traveled the country—performed in barns, churches, libraries, and airplane hangars—eschewing props and sets for pure, actor-driven storytelling.

    Bandits on the Run | Saturday, August 9 at 8 PM
    Brooklyn-based trio Bandits on the Run return to Aspen with their genre-blending mix of indie-folk, pop, and musical theater flair. Hailed by NPR Tiny Desk for their “impressive musicianship and marvelous harmonies,” the group features Sydney Torin Shepherd, recently seen on Broadway in Once Upon a One More Time, alongside Adrian Enscoe and Regina Strayhorn. Their cinematic sound and theatrical storytelling have earned them fans across Netflix, Shakespeare stages, and international festivals.

    DanceAspen: Shifting Forms | Thursday, August 28 at 7 PM
    This contemporary dance program features a world premiere by Garrett Smith, the emotionally charged Mother Tongue by Ihsan Rustem, and the return of audience favorite Ever After by Yin Yue—showcasing the bold creative spirit of DanceAspen’s resident artists.

    Tri-Faith Initiative to Host Documentary Film Premiere of Abraham’s Bridge

    OMAHA, NE  – May 28, 2025 –Tri-Faith Initiative will host a red-carpet premiere of the award-winning short film, Abraham’s Bridge, produced by Ellie Pierce, on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. The film chronicles the remarkable Tri-Faith Initiative in Omaha, Nebraska – an ambitious project to build a mosque, synagogue, church, and interfaith center side-by-side, connected by a circular wooden bridge. The film provides a concise yet powerful exploration of interfaith dialogue and community building in America’s heartland. 

    Abraham’s Bridge follows members of three religious communities (Jewish, Christian, and Muslim) as they seek to preserve their individual customs and beliefs while intentionally building relationships across differences based in shared values and community care. It follows the evolution of the Tri-Faith Initiative from its conceptual beginnings in 2005 to its physical manifestation as the only interfaith project of its kind in design, scale, and scope. 

    Abraham’s Bridge interviews key leaders past and present from the three Abrahamic faiths who have driven Tri-Faith Initiative forward: 

    Rabbi Aryeh Azriel, formerly the senior rabbi at Temple Israel in Omaha. The film showcases his early vision, shaped by the recognition that “those wars created a lot of graveyards in the Middle East,” stating “the issue of the relationship with the Muslim community was extremely important for me.” 

    Rabbi Ben Sharff contributes his insights on the importance of interfaith dialogue in fostering community and shared responsibility. As one of the new clergy replacing the founding generation of leaders, he see this as a “a golden opportunity to reimagine” the Tri-Faith Initiative. 

    Karim Khayati, representing the American Muslim Institute, helped shape the vision that the initiative “needed to be present on the physical ground.” 

    Rev. Dr. Jenny Shultz-Thomas, Senior Minister at Countryside Community Church, brings her background in interfaith projects and social justice to her work on the Tri-Faith Board of Directors. As the pastor of Countryside, she describes what she and her fellow Christians have been doing: “showing up as committed faithful listener, best partner in the journey as not observer, but the abiding friend who walks beside you.” She seeks a “deeper understanding of what these relationships mean.” 

    In addition to these leaders, interviews with other members from Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities provide diverse perspectives on transformation through interfaith engagement.

    The documentary film premiere of Abraham’s Bridge occurs on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Countryside Community Church. 

    5:30 to 6:00 p.m.: Check-in at Countryside main entrance, red-carpet photos, light food and drinks in the east garden 

    6:15 to 7:30 p.m.: Film premiere in main chapel hall with panel discussion to follow 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.: VIP reception with Ellie Pierce

    The producer/director of Abraham’s Bridge is Elinor (Ellie) J. Pierce, research director for the Pluralism Project at Harvard University. The Pluralism Project has been a leading force in documenting and interpreting America’s new religious diversity since 1991. Ellie co-produced and co-directed the documentary film Fremont, U.S.A., together with Rachel Antell, and served as content advisor for Acting on Faith: Women’s New Religious Activism in America. Ellie is the author of the case collection Pluralism in Practice (Orbis 2023) and the co-editor of two volumes, With the Best of Intentions and Pilgrimage, Place, and Pluralism

    Ellie Pierce will be available for in-person interviews on June 10 and virtual interviews prior to that date.
